Atmar off to Astana for talks on cementing cooperation

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): National Security Advisor (NSA) Mohammad Hanif Atmar left Kabul on Sunday for Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Atmar would land in Astana to have detailed discussions with the military and political leadership of Kazakhstan, a government statement said.

The two sides would discuss expansion of bilateral relations between Afghanistaninfo-icon and Kazakhstan, the Afghan peace process and the fight against terrorism.

The Afghan official would later visit Uzbekistan for talks with the political and military leadership of that country. The statement added.

Atmar would also confer with Uzbek officials on further cementing political, military and economic relations between the two countries.
