Those harassing people to be dealt with sternly: Ghani

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani has said individuals and groups involved in harassing and intimidating people would be dealt with sternly.

Talking to elders from Khairabad village of Dawlatabad district in northern Faryab province at his office, the president said the Afghanistaninfo-icon Constitution guaranteed the rights of all Afghans.

A statement from the Presidential Palace said the elders from Khairabad village informed the president about mistreatment of people by illegal armed men and other issues.

The elders said recent incidents in Khairabad villages should be investigated and the perpetrators brought to justices.

The president said the government was seriously working on the issue of illegal gunmen and action would be taken in line with the law against those harassing people.

Ghani said reforms were being implemented in all government departments in order to prevent such incidents.
